Why the Hougang Central Integrated Development Matters

The Hougang Central Integrated Development is the first Government Land Sales site in Hougang since 2019. In January 2026, a CapitaLand and UOL consortium won the tender at about S$1.5 billion.
The plan brings about 830 homes, Hougang's largest mall, a new bus interchange and a town plaza together. Everything connects directly to Hougang MRT station. As a result, this site becomes the main transport and shopping hub of the town.

Hougang MRT: Where the NEL Meets the Cross Island Line
东北线与跨岛线交汇
Hougang MRT station already serves the North East Line. The Cross Island Line will add a new interchange here. Its first phase runs 12 stations from Aviation Park to Bright Hill and is targeted for completion by 2030.
Phase 1 also links to the East-West Line at Pasir Ris, the North-South Line at Ang Mo Kio and the Thomson-East Coast Line at Bright Hill. In addition, a new Hougang bus interchange will sit within the development.
